Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Bramblepath Digital, LLC (“we”, “us”), of Montpelier, Vermont, which runs DecodiVerse. By creating an account or using DecodiVerse you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.

Accounts are for parents, guardians and educators who are 18 or older. Children read the stories with a grown-up; they may not create accounts. If we learn a child has made an account, we'll close it.

DecodiVerse uses AI to write and illustrate storybooks matched to a child's phonics reading level. We work hard to keep every story safe, decodable and accurate, but AI can make mistakes: a story may include a word above its level, an odd sentence or an unexpected picture. Please read each story before or alongside your child. DecodiVerse is a reading-practice tool, not a substitute for a teacher, reading specialist or professional assessment.

Keep your sign-in details secure, keep your account information accurate, and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under it. Tell us at info@decodiverse.com if you think someone else has used it.

Only add readers who are your own children or children you have permission to add. Don't type sensitive details — last names, school names, addresses, health information — into story topics or reader notes. You give us permission to use what you type, including sending it to our AI providers, to make your stories, as our Privacy Policy describes. What you type stays yours.

You're welcome to use DecodiVerse with your class. Don't add students' names or other personal details without their parents' permission and your school's approval. For school- or district-wide use, contact us first.

• Free plan: 3 stories a month. We may change free-plan limits.

• Storyteller plan: $14.99 a month or $119 a year, plus any applicable tax, for up to 25 stories a month. It is billed in advance through Stripe.

• Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price then in effect, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel.

• Cancelling: cancel anytime in Account → Subscription, or by emailing info@decodiverse.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Storyteller until the end of the period you've paid for.

• Price changes: we'll tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.

Payments aren't refunded, including for a partly used month or year. If something went wrong — a billing mistake, or a problem on our side that kept you from using DecodiVerse — email info@decodiverse.com and we'll make it right. This doesn't limit any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

On the free plan, each story stays in your Library for 30 days. On Storyteller, stories stay for as long as your subscription is active; if you cancel, they leave your Library 30 days after your plan ends, and we keep them for 6 months after you cancel in case you resubscribe. Download a story's PDF to keep it for good.

DecodiVerse, its design and the stories and illustrations it generates belong to Bramblepath Digital, LLC or its licensors. We give you a personal license to keep, print and share the stories you make with your family, and to use them with your own class. You may not sell them or use them for commercial purposes.

If you turn on a share link, anyone with the link can read that story until you turn the link off. Only share links you're comfortable being passed on.

Use DecodiVerse only to make stories for children to read. Don't:

• try to generate harmful, violent, sexual, hateful or otherwise inappropriate content

• try to get around our safety checks or content moderation

• use bots or automated tools to make requests

• reverse-engineer or copy the service, or access anyone else’s account or data

• add personal information about people who haven’t agreed to it

If several story topics in a row are blocked by our safety checks, story-making on your account pauses while we take a look. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings; our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and when.

DecodiVerse is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or stop parts of the service.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for any claim about DecodiVerse is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

When we change these terms we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we'll ask you to review and accept it in the app before you make your next story.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Vermont. Nothing here takes away consumer protections you have under the law where you live.
